I know first hand that sometimes we can fall into a flow of work that we feel like we haven’t booked any sessions that are super creative or out of the box and you feel like you’re stuck doing sessions that don’t truly LIGHT YOU UP. I’ve got some tips to help you start booking more of those sessions that just speak to your soul and align with your personal brand. Let’s dive right in!
Plan a Session You’ve Always Dreamed of Shooting: Ever tried setting up a styled photo shoots? You can ask for people to volunteer to be models or ask a family that aligns perfectly with your vision if they are open to getting free photos from you. It’s like being your own director! 🎥 You get to choose everything from the lighting to the props and models. Whether you’re going for moody vibes or vibrant colors, styled shoots let you unleash your creativity and capture images that truly resonate with you.
Embody Your Style in Your Brand: Your brand isn’t just a logo—it’s YOU! 💁♂️ Think about what makes your photography unique. Is it your love for candid moments or your knack for dramatic landscapes? When you infuse your personal style into your brand, every photo you take will feel like a reflection of who you are. Ex. If you are wanting to expand beyond your city and take on shoots around the US, post more travel content!
Create a Pinterest Board for Inspiration: Pinterest isn’t just for DIY projects and recipes—it’s a goldmine for photography inspo! 📌 Start a board where you can pin all your favorite photo styles and ideas. Want to try a cozy family shoot with warm tones and natural light? Pin it! Then, share your board with potential clients. Ask them if they’re into that vibe—it’s a great way to align expectations and get everyone excited about the shoot. Here is an example of a Pinterest board I made to promote my Christmas Minis this year that are a little different from my Christmas Minis from previous years to help my clients see my vision!
Burn out is REAL, friends! Avoid this by filling your portfolio with work you love and want to shoot more of. Remember, photography is about capturing moments that make your heart skip a beat and make you feel something. So, go out there, set up those shoots, define your style, and let your creativity shine! 🌟
